About OnCallStrata
Every building has a caretaker's list of numbers.
OnCallStrata puts that list online for every strata building in BC: licensed plumbers, electricians, locksmiths, restoration crews and more, and who picks up at 2 a.m.
Why it exists
When water comes through a ceiling on the ninth floor, a strata manager needs a licensed plumber who knows risers and answers the phone. Search engines return ads. Word of mouth is a phone full of numbers nobody has checked in years.
We start from the public record. Cities publish their business licences as open data, and we import the trade licences from 13 BC municipalities, so every listing is a licensed business. Owners then claim their listing, free, to add the numbers they actually answer, where they work and whether they take calls after hours.
