- Where do the listings come from?
- Every listing starts from a municipal business licence record, from the open data of Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Maple Ridge, Port Moody, Langley, Delta, Kelowna, Victoria, Prince George and Squamish. Each listing shows the issuing city, licence status and when it was last checked. Business owners then claim their listing to add phone numbers, service areas and availability.
- How do I find a trade who answers at night?
- Search by trade and building location, then choose "24/7 emergency". Only businesses that confirmed round-the-clock availability when they claimed their listing appear there.
- Are the trades vetted or endorsed?
- No. OnCallStrata shows public licence records and what owners confirm. Check licensing, insurance and WorkSafeBC clearance before work starts. Claimed listings show insurance and WorkSafeBC expiry dates.
- Is it free for trades to be listed?
- Yes. Licensed businesses are listed from the public record, and claiming a listing is free.
- Which areas are covered?
- Listings come from business licences issued by Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Maple Ridge, Port Moody, Langley, Delta, Kelowna, Victoria, Prince George and Squamish. Businesses licensed in several cities appear once, with each licence. Other municipalities, including Richmond, West Vancouver, the North Shore, Nanaimo and the rest of Greater Victoria, will be added when their licence data becomes openly available.
